Joshua Tree is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen, if not the most beautiful. I can't believe this place exists so close to my home and I never had the chance to visit before. B and I spent a long weekend hiking, checking out local haunts, and relaxing. I listened to nothing but Middle Cyclone and ate a lot of Luna bars. It was perfect.
We rented a tiny studio which had all the comforts of home for an excellent price. The house was on dirty, sandy roads far from the tiny town. It was pitch black when we arrived and our headlights made the quail scatter; when we turned them off the stars were crazy. It was like being in the planetarium in middle school, but better (obvs). I would love to go back with friends and rent a gorgeous house, spending a week exploring, firepitting, gossiping, hiking, swimming, writing, creating. Maybe next time.
